"We asked Iris about her early experiences at Grace: My personal experience – January 1978, Grace Davison did not have women working in the production plants, only in the K-1 packing room. I became the first Black female, African American to work in the production plant. I was working at Mole Sieves. One day before my probationary period ended, I was terminated (I believe) because the culture wasn’t ready for women to work in the production plant. My co-workers in the Mole Sieves Plant signed a petition to bring me back to work with assistance from leadership! As a result, I was able to return to my employment, and by grace, 45 years later, I am still here.

It is with sadness and a heavy heart that we notify the family that on July 6, 2022, our cousin Dewayne Johnson passed on. Please keep his wife, Joyce Johnson, his sisters, Bunny Greene and Bobbett Greene and the rest of his family in your prayers.

Today we learned of the passing of our relative, Deacon James C. Goode. Uncle James passed on February 28, 2022 and his homegoing service was on Tuesday March 22, 2022. He was 100 years old. On behalf of the "Hubbard Family Circle" and Chairman – Linda Swain, it is with a heavy heart in passing this information on to the rest of the Hubbard Family. Uncle James was the husband of the late Louise Goode (passed away in 2020) who was the daughter of Claudie Roosevelt Hubbard, Sr. and the granddaughter of Carson and Sarah Hubbard. Uncle James and his beloved wife, Louise for many, many years were always active participants in our Family Reunions.
We send our condolences to Uncle James Immediate Family – Our prayers are with you.

Today we learned of the passing of our relative, Deacon James C. Goode. Uncle James passed on February 28, 2022 and his homegoing service was on Tuesday March 22, 2022. He was 100 years old. Ryan fought a tough battle, but early this morning he lost his fight to stay with us, when GOD called him home. 2015 New York Family Reunion
Barry passed away on December 2, 2020, from complications related to diabetes and was cremated shortly thereafter. For those Hubbard family members who do not remember him, Barry is the ex-husband of Ann (Phyllis) Coles, and the Father of Rudy, (deceased) Reginald, (deceased), and Ryan Coles. Many of us share fond memories of Barry throughout their long union together as husband and wife. One of my favorite memories was getting to ride shotgun in his Gold GTO back in the ’70s. Although Ann and Barry were no longer married at the time of his passing, they remained close to the very end.
On behalf of the Hubbard Family Circle, we extend our condolences to Barry’s immediate family. Although Barry is gone from this earth, he will not be forgotten. Barry has gone to be with Our Lord and Savior, who has prepared a place for him in GOD’s many mansions.

It is with great sadness to inform you that Mrs. Imogene (PeeWee) Hall has passed. Imogene was briefly hospitalized in Prince Georges County Hospital while visiting her husband. He is hospitalized as well. Please keep her husband James Hall and her daughter Cassandra Harris (Sandi) in prayer as she is traveling to Maryland today. Also, keep their sons Gilbert Hall and James (Jimmy) Hall, Jr. in prayer.

As the Chair of the Hubbard Family, an executive decision has been made to postpone the 2020 Hubbard Family Reunion until 2021.
This decision was made based on the COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS pandemic that is prevalent in our country. We have one family member who has the virus. We have other family members who are having medical issues (including myself). Taking into consideration the common-sense measures that we are already aware of and the severity and cautionary measures that your Local, State and Federal Government has put in place to combat the Coronavirus on a Global Scale and the travel restrictions/directives that have been mandated. In addition, We are sensitive to our family members who have been laid-off and will be getting no pay or limited unemployment pay.
All banquet and cookout money WILL be returned/refunded to all family members who have paid for the 2020 Hubbard Family Reunion. For those who have paid dues, We will honor your dues for 2020 and thank you for your diligence to pay your dues.
Family, please be safe and vigilant to what your State’s guidance, as well as the Federal Government has advised. Keep in prayer our family members, who are on the front line as medical professionals and the EMTs, etc. Let’s keep in contact with our family members!!

Lamonte Hampton
Lamonte is one of 13 innovators being recognized in the Baltimore Social Innovation Journal. To give a short brief on our Hubbard Family member. When Lamonte was 17, he left Spanish Harlem for the U.S. Marine Corps. For the next four years, Mr. Hampton served in the Philippines, Guam and Japan. Then one day, he was honorably discharged--with zero warning. “ Having no clue how to write a resume or create a budget, no concept of how to access the resources available to him as a veteran. He felt totally lost,” as he recalls.
Lamonte wants to help homeless vets access life-changing services in an RV decked out with wifi, docking stations, a fully stocked kitchen and bathroom, and a lounge where families can visit their loved ones in a safe, comfortable setting instead of meeting on the street.
